Who is the RLB Leadership Academy designed for?

Emerging nonprofit visionaries: Individuals seeking a clear vision for starting an organization.

Established nonprofit executive leaders: Individuals who need to enhance their leadership skills and organizational management experience

Board Members: Individuals who desire a deeper understanding of nonprofit management from the executive director’s or CEO’s perspective.

How is the program structured?

The RLB Leadership Academy offers an engaging in-person learning experience. Our program year starts in the summer with a beginner’s workshop for aspiring nonprofit executive leaders that provides a comprehensive overview of how to set up a nonprofit organization. This workshop is followed by 10 weeks of essential leadership sessions, concluding with four masterclasses.

How long does the program last, and what is the time commitment?

The program year begins in the summer and ends the following spring. The Starting a Nonprofit Workshop is a one-day session that lasts four hours. The Executive Leadership Fundamentals are held one day a week (Tuesday) for nine weeks, lasting two to three hours, depending on the module. Each Masterclass lasts four hours. The tenth and final module is our graduation ceremony, which lasts two hours.

Is financial assistance available for the program?

We offer scholarships for qualified candidates based on their organization’s annual operating budget.
*You must have a registered 501(c)(3) and an Employer Identification Number (EIN) to be a qualified candidate for scholarships.
Full Scholarship (100%): Annual operating budget: $0 – $250,000
75% Scholarship ($2,499.75 payment): Annual operating budget: $250,001 – $500,000
50% Scholarship ($4,999.50 payment): Annual operating budget: $500,001 – $750,000
25% Scholarship ($7,499.25 payment): Annual operating budget: $750,001 – $999,999
0% Scholarship: Annual operating budget: $999,999+

Are there any networking opportunities provided through the program?

Yes. We’ve designed the program to encourage participants to connect with other participants, the instructors, and the RLBLA Team to build their professional networks. In addition, participants who graduated from the program are invited to attend our quarterly alumni mixers.

How do I register for the program?

When registration opens, you can choose between two types: Non-Sponsored, for individuals whose tuition is not covered by a funding organization, and Sponsored, for individuals whose tuition is covered by a funding organization.

What is the attendance policy?

We strongly encourage all participants to attend every instructional session of the Executive Leadership Fundamentals curriculum, as these sessions cover essential topics related to organizational management.

To meet the attendance requirement for each module, you must complete the post-module survey. If you miss a session, you are required to review the module recording, take the quiz, and complete the survey.

Completion of all post-module surveys and any make-up quizzes is required for graduation.

What is the cancellation policy?

For Starting the Nonprofit Workshop, you will receive a full refund if you cancel your registration seven days before the workshop. 

For Executive Leadership Fundamentals, you will receive a full refund if you cancel your registration five business days before the first class. If you drop out after attending the first class, you will receive a 50% refund. No refund will be issued after the second class.

What are the graduation requirements?

All participants must meet the requirements outlined in the Participant Packet they will receive during onboarding and Orientation.
